According to the Providence Journal, Governor Chafee and officials with the Rhode Island Economic Development Corporation have been meeting with 38 Studios executives on how to keep the company afloat. 38 Studios, owned by former MLB pitcher Curt Schilling , was given a 75 million loan guarantee from the state of Rhode Island before moving the company there in 2010, but now seems to be having financial issues. Earlier this year 38 studios released Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, while it received mostly high rating and marks from critics, the game has only sold around 400,000 copies.
